2019-2020 Pre-Season ACC Bowl Predictions
With a little time on my hands on this Sunday afternoon, it's time for the annual VTECHFAN Bowl Predictions for the pre-season. For grins, I included last year's picks at the bottom. So to start, here are the picks for finishing...
Atlantic:
1. Clemson
2(T). NC State
2(T). Florida State
4(T). Wake Forest
4(T). Boston College
4(T). Syracuse
7. Louisville
Coastal:
1(T). Miami (Goes to the ACCCG)
1(T). Virginia Tech
3. UVA
4. Pittsburgh
5(T). Duke
5(T). North Carolina
7. Georgia Tech
Syracuse is getting far too much love this year. Babers is a good coach, but Dungey is gone. Cuse lost a TON from last year's team (it's strange how so many publications say that Cuse has a lot coming back... but broken down position by position, there's a key guy gone from every group... including most of the OL). Georgia Tech will be the weakest team in the league... for a year. The first year or two post PJ was always going to be a struggle.
As always, Wake Forest will surprise some people. Florida State will do pretty well... but that will be largely thanks to a league that is generally down except for Clemson (who won't be quite as good as they were last year).
So without further ado, here we go.... As always, I'll do the full playoffs and all NY6 bowls before keeping to the ACC in the lower tier bowls.....
Playoffs:
Peach Bowl: #1 Clemson (still going to be undefeated) vs #4 Ohio State
Fiesta Bowl: #2 Oklahoma vs #3 Alabama
National Title (Yawn): #3 Alabama over #1 Clemson
NY6:
Orange Bowl: Miami vs Georgia (Missed the Richt Bowl by a year)
Rose Bowl: Michigan vs Washington
Sugar Bowl: Auburn vs Texas
Cotton Bowl: UCF vs USC
ACC Bowls:
Camping World Bowl: Florida State vs TCU
Belk Bowl: NC State vs Missouri
Sun Bowl: UVA vs Colorado
Pinstripe Bowl: Pittsburgh vs Michigan State
Music City Bowl: Virginia Tech vs Tennessee
Independence Bowl: Wake Forest vs Arkansas
Military Bowl: Boston College vs Navy
Quick Lane Bowl: Syracuse vs Purdue
