for like 7 days in 1990, I believe that was the year. They came to the Burg (sans Shawn Moore) and we ran them off the field with a bunch of gutsy blue collar guys, 38-13.

I remember lots of Hoo fans there , most of which left by the early 4th quarter...they were noisy and obnoxious until we starting dropping the hammer..

Why are they so highly regarded? Only 6 returning starters on offense and I am not yet buying all the BS on Perkins...he is good but not great and has a depleted receiving corps..is it mainly because they shut out a God awful USC-E team in the might Belk Bowl? Ryan Willis and company made their defense look lame the entire game....oh well, I am VERY happy to see them ranked #1 again., albeit for the Coastal...the fall one more time will be SO SWEET to watch... I remember the Hoo faces just 8 months ago on Nov 23, when Bryce " Fumbles" Perkins laid the ball on the ground and ALL the player arm holding and swaying on the sidelines magically STOPPED!!! Some called it suicidal...sorry, I am NOT drinking the Blue and Orange kool aid...this is a movie where we have seen the ending all too often.
