Buzz showed that you can win at VT. I've heard so much negativity about VT basketball. How we aren't a "urban" campus, so we'll never get great talent to play here. How we have no history, so forget trying to compete with the UNCs & Dooks of the world (even after Seth beat them regularly).

Buzz came here, recruited some really good players, and won. It took a little while to turn the ship around, but he did it. Not only did he do it, he was the first coach to take VT to three consecutive NCAA trips in school history, the last finishing in the Sweet 16.

I'm thankfully for Seth, and I'm thankful for Buzz! Brick by brick, they built a solid foundation for VT basketball.

After Buzz left, thought Mike's first recruiting class would be "toast" before he even started since he started so late. Yes, I thought this coming season was going to be written off, but felt Mike's second year would start the rebuilding process.

Many posters who supported Mike said he wasn't much of a recruiter, but he was an excellent "Xs & Os" coach. If his actual coaching is that much better than his recruiting, can't wait for the season to start.
