Not at all

Ike Whitaker was a top 150 overall prospect nationally who never reached his potential because of substance abuse. Who knows what he could of done if he hadn't had a very bad drinking problem, but that situation is very different than Hooker who is hard working and still too young to determine his fate. Hooker was rated more than 200 spots lower than Whitaker as a recruit.

Sean Glennon was a top 200 overall prospect nationally who, IMHO, underachieved and resulted in a younger Tyrod Taylor taking over as starting QB as a true freshman. You may recall TT being forced to play a true freshman in 2007 because Glennon was scoreless against LSU, so TT came in and put points on the board. The next year TT was supposed to redshirt but we lost to ECU and TT replaced Glennon as the starter again. Glennon was definitely an underachiever relative to his rankings.

Ryan Willis on the other hand was ranked #701 nationally as a 3-star recruit and this year has a chance to set VT's single season passing record as well as be in the top 5 all time among VT qb's for career passing, in just 1.75 seasons of starting. In my opinion, that would make Ryan Willis a SERIOUS over-achiever relative to his rankings and his ultimate production. But a lot of people probably won't like that, since he threw three INTs last weekend.
