Top 10 things Fuente has had to overcome while rebuilding VT Football

Just a reminder of things that Fuente has faced while working to rebuild the VT program.
#10 - Being Frank Beamer's replacement
#09 - Losing Jerod evans / Isaiah Ford / Bucky Hodges early to draft
#08 - Galen Scott Resigning after Contraversy
#07 - NCAA recruiting Rules constant changes over last few years
#06 - Torian Gray Leaving Virginia Tech for Florida
#05 - Josh Jackson's season ending Injury
#04 - The Player Transfer Portal
#03 - Bud Fosters Personal life issues and eventual retirement announcement
#02 - Previously recruited Player Bad attitude Issues (Trevon Hill etc. etc)
#01 - Last 2 years of the youngest Power 5 team in America.

I really appreciate the Job that Fuente has done steadily working to rebuild this program, while dealing with the fast changing landscape of college football, previously recruited player issues, unexpected assistant coaching issues, premature loss of star players and quarterbacks, and the high expectations and pressue left by coach beamer and his staff and spoiled fans.

Hokie fans may never know how low this program could have fallen, with the loss of coach Beamer and Bud within the span of a few years.

We Hokies have been spoiled by the stability provided by Frank Beam and Bud Foster over the years. However, I think we have been fortunate to get Coach Fuente and his staff to manage our Hokies through this tough transition. He is keeping us on track culturally while quietly rebuilding our program and continuing the tradition of bringing in high quality kids and athletes with a healthy perspective and hard working attitude that put VT football on the map.

Keep yours heads up Hokies, the VT culture is intact, and our Football team is on the rise again. Fuente and his staff are building the foundation that will carry VT football to new heights in the future. Let's enjoy watching this very young team grow 1 game at a time this season, and relax, because the future is bright for Hokie football.
Go Hokies!!
