You are welcome
FWIW FAMU beat UMass 35-28 in 1978 to be crowned the first NCAA DI National Champion in football. A side note the NCAA considers the DI-AA (now FCS) national champion to be its only DI champion in football. Even though it keeps track of the DI-A (now FBS) info, DI-FBS champions have always been crowned by a private organization (i.e. AP, Coaches, BCA, BCS, Playoff) and so they were never officially recognized as NCAA champion. Primarily because the NCAA doesn't control the postseason like it does with DI-FCS. Anyways, the HBCUs have really struggled in recent years because money is becoming a bigger factor even for the DI-FCS schools.
