Listening to the most recent TSL podcast this week, it got me to thinking

about 2 points CC made. First he acknowledged the youth on the team still and us redshirting as many as possible could be beneficial long term and he would redshirt everyone eligible at this point. As he said and we've all seen, new coaches do this because they know they have a few years before getting fired. I tend to agree with this play. Second he said Fu seems to have some sort of mandate to keep the bowl streak alive and beat UVa. We can debate that all we want but I'd give up both of those short term for the longer term benefit.
Let's play what if: say Fu had a press conference tomorrow and said he knows the program isn't where most want it to be and besides bad character, bad decisions, and bad timing of departures he acknowledges he needs to make some changes. And he has a 3 point plan: 1. Redshirt everyone eligible (assuming the kids go along with it). Play for the future. Even kids we want to see play this year (like Robinson and King). 2. Cornelson will remain the OC and QB coach but Fu will call plays on game day. 3. Not focus on the bowl streak and UVa to the point of sacrificing everything in 1 above but aggressively call plays in a very real attempt to still win every game.

How supportive of this would you be? How much longer would you give him? I personally would be all for this and would be willing to give at least 2 more years to see the fruits of these decisions.

What say you o football board?
