Here's why it might be a good idea to invite UCF:
1. UCF academically and athletically is on the rise and establishing themselves as a very strong University in the south east. In a nut shell, from everything I have read, this university is headed in the right direction.
2. With Universities in the panhandle and South Florida, a third University in the middle of Florida would pretty much lock up Florida for the ACC. UF & the SEC may not like this idea!
3. The Orlando area is a large market and growing rapidly. To have a University in Orlando would be great for the ACC.
4. When UCF goes to a bowl in Florida, their ticket sales would be huge.

I definitely don't have all this figured out but as the ACC struggles through another football season, I thought it might be a good to beat other conferences to the punch and invite an up-and-coming University to join.
