Part of the serious issue for Fuente is that its not just a talent or X & O

issue. The bigger concern is team morale and heart. Some of the players clearly quit once they faced adversity and it was obvious even to observers with no ties to the program. Can't help but think its connected to the issue from the SI article on what took place last year. We all assume that the players who left the program fixed the issue, without considering maybe they are still players that feel like that and are still part of the team and just not as vocal about it, and/or the damage has already been done even if the team is "closer." I just find it hard to believe we had a culture issue last year and 10 or so players transferred and all of a sudden it is fixed in one season. A huge of the issue falls on Fuente and his staff. 1. For letting it spiral to the point it has 2. We hear players saying it has been the most competitive week of practice ever, why weren't they practicing with this sense of urgency all off season especially considering how bad the team was last year.

If it was just a talent or X and O issue, you could fix that with a change in members of his staff but unfortunately for reasons I stated, the issue runs deeper. FSU last year under Jimbo Fisher showed that even with NFL talented rosters, without the right culture it is pointless.
