I doubt espn has many "better" crews.
Some, but not a lot. Remember, a few years ago, espn fired, or forced out, a lot of top shelf on air talent, as well as production talent.
espn still had as many games to televise as before, so it had to dig much deeper in the talent pool, and I don't think that talent pool was that wide and deep to begin with.
