Hooker really impressed me Saturday.....
Ok, he was only 10 of 20, but those 10 incompletions included some very smart throw aways as well as some early overthrows that COULD be accounted for as nerves.
And his running was great. Nice cuts to get more yardage. Little hesitation. And his yardage there opened up things for McClease and thus the passing game.
As far as his passing goes, I like that he makes quick decisions. The TD he threw to Keene where he faked a run right and Keene spilled out. He sold that then quickly got the ball to Keene which he ran in for 6.
Are teams going to get video of him?? Well yeah, but adding that dimension a) makes VT harder to scheme against and b) opens up our playbook more.
I still think we have a lot of progressing to do, but Hooker impressed me.
