I know......."IF." Times are tough in Hokieland, so I need some hope, and when you need hope, you start looking at "IF." By the way, please spare me the follow up post that has me saying HH is as good as Vick. I'm NOT saying that for God's sake. I'm just saying, what if?

1. We have a small sample size. HH hasn't played much from what we've seen. Miami isn't terrible by any means, and Rhode Island is terrible, but still only 8 quarters as a starter.

2. What if he turns out just to be pretty accurate and making incredible reads, and then turns up field some and gets 100 yd rushing games against UNC or Pittsburgh, etc? That would change the outlook of fans and our projections of where we are at in the Coastal this year.

3. Coach Fu could possibly look like a dumbarse if it happened. Fu is NOT a dumbarse by the way, but if Hooker were to just play insane and off the hook and getting ESPN shout outs and put up crazy numbers, that's not necessarily a good look for Coach Fu, because the question then becomes, you have seen RW and HH in practice. What the he%% were you looking at?

All speculative above, but fun. I will say this....and in my opinion, this isn't speculative. We are going to have to have a player Vick like or literally, a generational type player to pull us out of this funk at VT. I don't think it is resolved as quick as most fans and maybe that makes me more pessimistic, but I'm being honest.
