Data certainly does

I'm saying the last great skilled offensive player we got was Tyrod. Offensively, we were hurting in recruiting. We were having 20th ranked recruiting classes in 2009, but the offensive side in that class would rank 33rdish and defensively, 8th to 10thish. That followed well into Beamers retirement, but because of the losses in Beamers last four years, it caught up to us in the defensive side of the ball, overall tram recruit ranking in Beamers last two years. The wheels were well in motion.

We missed out on three future NFL starting QBs from the state of VA the year we got Logan Thomas, a Division one tight end projection and not a true QB, but we tried to make him one. The great RB recruits stopped with Evans and Williams and WR, Eddie Royal the last huge recruit. The offensive recruit pipeline in VA at skilled positions ended with Tryod. Other programs in the ACC and country moved to modern day offenses, we remained archaic and even regressed in performance. That's where we are today regarding the roots of our poor recruiting and pretty much, straight 3 star talent across the board with a few fours and a few twos.
