The other thing that favored us was having a dual threat QB in the game.


With just one chance to score from the 3 yd line, much easier when you have the run/pass option. Had either QP or HH been in the same situation Howell was on UNC's second try, I think either would have tucked and probably scored. Having a pocket QB that close to the goal line can be tough as the throwing windows are tight.
