I think you put too much emphasis on total yardage and not enough on Bud.

I've seen Buds group allow 400 yards of offense, yet the opponent has 7 points on the board.
Bud foster knows how to get the absolute most out of his unit.

He knows how to confuse, surprise, and pressure offenses.

The other disconnect you have is in your estimation of how good Notre Dame and Penn State are?

Notre Dame got beat by Georgia, which lost to South Carolina?

Penn State Barely beat PITT?

I think you are caught up in the Rankings perhaps.

Hell, VT is unranked, and we are about to beat the ever loving snot out of 16th ranked Notre Dame.

Want to see how this Defense does against Penn State, stick around, we might play them in a bowl game.
