Its a complex question, with no clear answer, but I'd say its "offense"...

You can't clearly quantify this case one way or the other since its a small sample size, wide variability in level of competition, and "general" improvement. I mean how do you compare yds/scoring of ODU and Furman against Miami and UNC? There's many moving parts...

We had key players out during some stretches with Willis starting such as Turner and Hazelton, there were others on OL as well.

So it really gets down honestly to the "eye test" more than anything else. I think to most people, the offense "looks" more diverse and effective with HH behind center. The running game has opened up, Keene is contributing again, turnovers are down. Defenses look off balance and uncertain.

With Willis, the offense looked stiff and limited, the run game was stoned.

I think this improvement by the offense has aided the defense to a degree, though they have been improving incrementally in their own right. Overall though, I don't see the defense dominating, while the offense has been dominant at times.

Everything in football is connected, and things have improved almost everywhere since HH took over. I honestly don't believe we'd have beaten Miami or UNC with Willis. I really don't.
