I wouldn't consider November 5-7 to be mid-November though

If you consider the 5-7 to be the middle of the month, then I can't imagine what dates you consider to be early or late in a month. Besides, comparing the ACC men's basketball to the NFL is an apples-oranges comparison because the NFL has no other competitors and it can't schedule games against other leagues. Whereas, the ACC does have other options.
