Not that anything good usually comes from losing to UVA, but to finish the
season and looking forward for the program, it might have been better that VT lost. UVA now will probably be playing Clemson, Alabama and then start 2020 with Georgia. That's gonna be a rough 3 games and could really sour their success with 3 straight losses. (They could win 1 of those, yes, and that would be exciting...buttttttttt doubtful.)
VT will not have to get bludgeoned by Clemson, get a more suitable bowl opponent and not start 2020 with a new QB and Georgia's defense. Rather disappointing that VT could end up in the Belk Bowl, but with only 8 wins, it's not surprising. Getting a 7th win with Hooker at the helm would be good momentum moving into that 2nd game match-up against PSU next year.
