So he grabbed a young guy on his staff that his team could respect and had potential to keep the Beamer/Bud crowd happy. If you believe the hype on Twitter, Hamilton was going to be plucked by Clemson and is just a few years away from a HC job (eyes rolling into the back of my head). So I guess you could say this was a defensive move by Fuente. This just feels like a CYA hire to avoid completely burning down the house the Frank built. I hope I'm wrong.
