I have very sketchy memories, as I was wasted.
We were throwing oranges after the game, and I saw someone just hop over the gate, and I thought, that's genious!
So I ran out onto the field, not really having a direction, just gazing around going huh, so this is the field. Then we all just started running over to the goal post, like it was our mission in life.
I'm pretty tall, so I was able to jump up and hang on one side, like that was doing something.
I remember hanging on the goal post for a while, thinking, well, my hands are getting pretty tired. Then I fell off, and nearly got smotherd under dozens of people.
I remember I could not breath, then luckily people started pulling folks off the pile.
Finally I got up and gazed up at that goal post, which was still intact.
Then someone in a more rational state of mind than I was jumped up top with tools and started loosening it up. Pretty soon, down she went.
Then I remember carrying that thing around the campus.
It was like we had a plan, and knew exactly what to do with it, but i'm pretty sure we had no clue. I lost memory after that as to what happened.
Just curious if anyone else remembered that night that was around the goal post.
I was one of the first to jump up and grab hold of the post.
I think after we pasted Syracuse, we took 1st place in the Big East.
I also wonder what happened to the goal post after my blackout.
I assume they took it back to the field, but have no idea.
This was one of my near death experiences, no joke.
Would't trade that memory for the world.
