Don't think running off to interview is a way to pad your existing contract
IMHO, it gives the wrong impression, especially for someone who hasn't exactly set the world on fire at his current job. Now if he'd won the Coastal every year, and actually challenged Clemson for the title, he would definitely be a guy we want to pay to keep.
But right now, he's sort of "on the fence" when it comes to job performance. We think the program has been sorted to where we're on an upward trend the next couple years, but that hasn't happened yet...
