Is this the future of VT FB after missing an “off ramp” to salvation??

1) Fuente has, by his own action & inaction, destroyed every basis for loyalty VT fans had toward him...he seems to be over-hyped, arrogant, standoffish, “thin skinned”, self-centered & overcompensating for incompetence...and worst of all he was/is “Not ready for the long haul as a P-5 prime time HC”

2) If Fuente got upset about the Hokie Nation’s reaction to the Dook loss (10-45; Duke ends up 5-7 (3-5)); then he is really gonna enjoy all the “Baylor-Baylor-Baylor” chants that are sure to follow every future Hokie FB disappointment...

3) then there will be the constant reminder that at least Buzz did in fact leave

4) it would indeed have been unfair if Babcock was allowed a “quick out” of this “train-wreck” he alone created; Babcock deserves to savor, endure and deal with this disaster on a daily basis which is ENTIRELY of his own making...karma is a bitch...after all who held a gun to the “The Genius’” head when he proposed, agreed to and signed off on the current $15 million buyout to fire “Boy Wonder”??
It is called “golden handcuffs”...and they are on VT....coincidentally, it will only cost FU $1 million to leave....now that is genius negotiating...where is Donald Trump when you need him???

If Fuente is fired before his contract expires on Dec. 15, 2024, he is owed a buyout, which doesn't fall under eight figures until 2022:

After the 2018 season: $15 million
2019: $15 million
2020: $12.5 million
2021: $10 million
2022: $7.5 million
2023: $5 million
2024: $2 million

The moral to this story...FU ain’t going no where soon...(short of frustrated deep-pocket givers deciding enough is enough & collectively digging deep to provide Whit “the genius” a bailout...)

5) somehow I think Babcock’s success at hiring MBB coaches will become less and less important while he strangles the goose that laid the golden egg with each passing FB season...

7) it is very, very doubtful VT will be able to survive the coming thrashing at home in Week 2 by Penn St which is not only a mere game but sets the stage for future VA HS recruiting battles; can the team re-group afterwards or will it suffer a season collapse in reaction to such Top 10 adversity??? (Call it one final post-mortem middle finger from Jim Weaver courtesy of his alma mater)
