We never really experienced this environment. Frank was hired in 1987 and stayed into the 21st century. VT never really experienced the bidding of coaches hiring, courting, posturing etc that most schools have experienced. With the Fuente initial hire, it was celebrated as calm and collected, but now 4 years out we got to experience when so many dynamics such as other schools try to buy out a coach, or agents play the game to get their coaching clients better contracts etc all for business NOT for the game...........
