My Dad, an ME at the Radford Army Ammunition Plant, came home one night and said “Boy, Get your coat on we’re going to see a basketball game!’

His boss had given him two tickets to the first game at the Coliseum!

It was a school night and Mom was not to keen on it but it was truly a happening in SWVA.

Couldn’t tell you who we played, but I remember sitting on concrete risers with chalk numbers for our seats. The other thing I remember was the biggest bucket of popcorn and soda I had ever seen.

It was a great Dad/ Son night that he and I fondly remembered over the years.

He’s been gone for 11 years but I’ll never forget.
