This is why they need scholarship reductions. They had this same problem
with Alabama in 60's and 70's winning something like 10 national championships when they had 105 scholarships. They would just hoard all the best players, often just to keep them away from the competition. After scholarships got reduced to 85, you saw relative parity improved. If we go down to say 75 scholarships each, more of the best players would not be able to go to the same elite schools.
