My thoughts...

One thing that needed to happen was a full and honest evaluation of the coaching staff and make sure the necessary changes are made. That includes getting a few more go-getters on the recruiting trail as well as making sure we have the right people in place otherwise. That is supposedly done. Not a huge fan of BC, but it is what it is. We could do worse and he's probably our best OC since Bustle.

Major improvements to the Hokie Club. A message of giving for giving sake is quite frankly naïve. You have to build some value and make giving to the Hokie Club (especially for newer alumni) a cool thing to do. Also, make it easier. I've almost given a couple times over the years only to be discouraged by how difficult it is to give money. The friggin link to explain the process of auto-ACH is broken for gosh sake.

That leads to allowing us to get the facilities in place that will help us get the right staffers in place. I'm not sure how feasible a brand new Merriman is, but at the very least it needs a MAJOR overhaul. The weight room upgrades aren't enough and probably take us from 20 years behind to about 5-10 years behind much of the rest of the college football world.

Outside of that, just win. I think we have a good coach. We just need to get the jimmys and joes. Last year's recruiting disaster can't happen again. We don't necessarily need a banner year... but we need a top 35ish class at the VERY least.
