Think about the facilities in 1999
Lane sat 53,130. Some upgrades had been done, but Tech was seven or eight years from what they have now. There were not even ideas yet for the current football only indoor practice facility. Tech was using an upgraded weight room, but nothing of the sort they currently have.
So given what Tech currently has, compared to what was in place in '99, our facilities are competitive.
I don't think you can make a case for expanding Lane Stadium. Replacing Cassell would provide a bigger boost for Tech athletics then expanding Lane to have 80,000+ seats.
You can probably make a case for increasing the recruiting budget. [Post edited by Hokie1992 at 02/01/2020 1:57PM]
