The answer is that Mike Young doesn't want to get fired (more)

At this point you're most likely coming out of your shoes thinking that Mike Young isn't going to get fired any time soon. That's true. But as soon as he starts doing stuff, and teaching his team to do stuff, that leads to bad basketball and an inability to compete, the writing is on the wall.

Your question is, essentially, "why don't teams that are losing try random stuff to try against all odds to win?" And the answer is that coaches who do that are going to be fired sooner rather than later. They will lose respect of their players first. Once that happens the losses will turn into really bad losses. And there won't be any victories to offset them.

Unfortunately for people who think there are simple answers to overcome difficult problems, the actual answer is continue to get better at what you know is the right things to do. And sending extra bodies to the offensive boards while having no size to defend and a narrow margin for everything else on the floor, is a recipe for disaster. Really bad, undisciplined, basketball teams do what you're asking. I've seen a lot of these in AAU. And they get absolutely blown out.

Do you take unacceptable risks in your own professional or personal life? I assume no. Then why would you want Mike Young do that?
