Thinking more about this, you know whats absurd in the big picture...


The fact people even donate to a football program at all. Its inherently wasteful and what fuels the unnecessary slippery slope arms race. Its like donating to a pro team. Nobody would do that.
Between ticket sales, merchandise sales and of course huge TV revenue, college football has more than enough money to support itself with great facilities and high coach salaries etc.
Donating money so that your school can try to keep up or have more than the other school is pretty silly when you think about it. Who wins? Certainly not the fan and donor.
There's a solution to ponder. No more donations. Let the revenue fund the programs

PS this is not a battle cry to stop donating. Sent mine in today ironically. Unfortunately its the reality of how things are but it really never had to be. Would I donate to the redskins? Hell no. They make money. As does NCAA football. No charity needed there
