...274,304 were hospitalized, and we had 12,469 fatalities.
Remember, this is the US numbers, not global numbers.
During that crisis, there were no colleges closed, no college or pro athletic events cancelled, etc. Heck, most people don't even remember it.
Yeah, hysteria is probably a good description.
