I thought I would swing by and see what this board thought about the new rule allowing athletes to profit from their likeness etc. Does this help or hurt VT?

My gut says it won't make a difference but thinking about it further it might make the big-name schools even bigger. The schools with the bagmen will be more easily able to get recruits to their schools because they will have more mechanisms to provide money.

I don't think VT really plays that game. I'm particularly worried about the recruits from Texas. On the flip side, the better players might go to a place where they can become a star easier? That way they get more attention. I can see it happening both ways so that's why I think it will be a wash.

What does this Techsideline think? Will they write a story about it?
