Let's just end the charade. Spin off about 20 teams into the college


semi-pro league with hardly any rules and their own division/playoff structure.

Remaining P5 teams and the group of 5 merge and establish a playoff system similar to the FCS. Also impose salary caps on coaching staffs and maybe additional cost structure restrictions.

"Fun question." How many teams would have to spin off into this semi-pro league before Va Tech was considered a viable invitee? (If we even wanted to be included.) I say 20 no, 25 iffy, 30 getting there, 35-40 yes.
