I'm usually one to find the silver lining in anything, and this is a class case of that - but I'm wondering if, assuming we weren't getting Davis anyway, this is the best way for it to happen. Instead of him civilly going elsewhere, he's being an ass, and our players our responding accordingly. Check Twitter - they've clearly taken this as a challenge and another chip on their shoulder. And they don't like it. Technically, nothing DD said was wrong "2 and 3 star guys aren't going to beat Clemson; I want a National Championship" and it's a bit of a shot to the heart. But it's lit a fire in the heart of the team and they're gearing up to have, what I optimistically foresee, a GREAT season. From the coaches' perspective, you have to think his comments are somewhat of a wake up call. The casual fan and Twitter troll dissatisfaction is never taken seriously, but when a high-profile former recruit (and diamond of the class for that matter) publicly expresses these sentiments, they have to feel some added pressure to what they already knew.
