What is the actual benefit to VT aligning with ACC schools, instead of Big10 or SEC?

Academics? Can that be quantified or qualified? Academic prestige? Enrollment?

Sports? Football? Bball? Other sports? What about numbers of existing teams in the conferences- 12 v 14? Playing ND occasionally?

Looking at today’s football landscape alone, I don’t see where the ACC is the right fit. If VT ever plays PSU, Wisconsin, MSU, Purdue, etc. we will likely get a feel for what it’s like to be a B10 conference member.
