There are endless examples of guys who were first-time head coaches and who succeeded. I'm in no hurry to get rid of Fuente and I have no idea if Shane Beamer will be a good head coach or not. However, half our fan base laments the Fuente hire because "he's not a P5 guy" and the other half thinks we should only hire someone with HCing experience.

The pool of coaches who would satisfy both groups is quite small.
