Everybody now understands that this pandemic has been overhyped...

90% of Covid deaths fall within the oldest 1/3 demographic. The vast majority of remaining deaths are among the 'vulnerable' (e.g., diabetes, obese, immunocompromised) demographic. The majority of the populace has a better chance of dying in a car accident than from Covid.

So the obvious plan is to limit football attendance to those outside of high risk groups. But you can't tell people to stay away based on age, health condition, etc. because the media would flip out.

So smart people in charge know the situation but they also know they cannot use the commonsense solution, so they come up with something that looks like they buy into the Covid hype but that still allows them to exercise their common sense. We have a rabid media ready to attack anybody that even suggests that Covid is anything less than the apocalypse, so university presidents have to toe the line here. Thus, we get the absurd solution of conference only schedules.

FYI some New York neighborhoods are approaching 50% infection rates, yet deaths remain low/dropping in NY. Once the old folks protected themselves suddenly deaths dropped. What a shocker!

About 2 million people have died so far in the US this year. 135k from Covid.
