competition? My OP was purely my attempt to get into the minds of the people at 247 to provide a logical explanation for why they made the decision not to rate him. Nothing more.

My response to you based in part on DownSouthHokieGA's post (see above) since DownSouthHokieGA is from the same area as the recruit. I do believe that any recruits' highlight film is selective to present the recruit in the best positive light as possible. Likewise, I don't believe a person can get an accurate representation on the level of competition unless you are able to see the good, the bad, and the indifferent (aka the complete picture). The other factor I consider is the number of P5 offers a recruit has received during the process. Given that Georgia is considered to be a very fertile state for football recruiting, a player, who plays in a "solid" part of the state, should have had more than 3 P5 offers. Heck you might even say 2.5 P5 offers with Duke being the .5.

You may have a differing opinion and that fine. There is nothing to prevent someone from forming a different opinion than someone else. It is my opinion that the people at 247 have seen the recruit play in person. I do believe it is possible that the "game experience" painted a different picture than is painted in the highlight film. I am assuming the people at 247 who cover Georgia are very familiar with the state. They may have even developed biases over the years. Regardless of the situation at 247, I don't believe it changes valid reasons to explain why 247 has chosen not the rate the recruit at this time. As far as who is "right" and who is "wrong?" Personally, I don't think it matters because only Father Time knows the answer and he will reveal it all in due time. Hence why I have no opinion on whether I agree or disagree with 247's decision.
