My dad passed away this morning. He passed in Roanoke and I live in NC.
his health had declined the past few years and it became harder and harder to communicate with him living so far away. He had a couple strokes and couldn't hear very well or answer his phone. His mind was sharp as a tack and he would ask you to make a call for him, but he didn't store numbers in his cell phone he remembered them... darndest thing. Anyway, everytime I left Roanoke after a visit I knew it may be my last visit with him so I made the most of it and made sure he knew I loved him. I was able to see him on video chat with him last week thanks to my sister. He was at Our Lady of the Valley and ever since COVID and visitation restrictions, his spirits had declined. This morning the Lord called his number and he joined my mother in eternal peace. I'm thankful he isn't suffering anymore but soul sure does hurt. Others that have had similar experiences have let us know and I'll do the same, make sure your loved ones know how much you care.
