I share your optimism about VT basketball. I do think that you are

significantly underestimating the coming edition of UVa, though. The pesky point guard returns to start his third year. He has improved incrementally each year and might improve a bit more. He has heart. Redshirt senior 7-footer Jay Huff has improved incrementally over the past four years and should be very effective offensively and defensively this year. He is backed up by a RS-soph 7-footer from Argentina who is also improving incrementally. RS senior transfer Sam Hauser is a proven 6'8" all-around player who can fill it up with 3-balls. 6'5" senior Woldetensae came on strong from downtown late last year. There is a 6'11" RS frosh who has a lot of promise. 6'8" soph forward Justin McKoy adds depth inside. Soph G Casey Morsell is a good player who can be expected to improve his outside shooting this year..and there are 3 very good true frosh, including 6'3" guard Reece Beekman and 6'7" swingman Jabri Abdur-Rahim, both very highly rated. Lots of pieces -- and Tony Bennett is very good at crafting results from his pieces. I believe that UVa will be a consensus Top Ten team preseason -- not unjustifiably.
