The antibodies aren't there forever. It depends on the individual how long.they last.

Not too many people are going to volunteer to get infected twice, nor are the herd immunity advocates calling for administering live virus shots to get herd immunity done in 1 year.

There are a lot of long haulers, some of whom haven't tested positive. They can inhabit certain cells in the body that are protected by the immune system.

Coronaviruses are also known to reinfect the same hosts.

The off-season lull was predictable.
