After reviewing the podcast/Monday thoughts, I realized none of those comments reflected the views of this annoyed fan.

Why was UNC more palatable? For me...easy...they are stacked with talent, they recruit our socks off, and were a top 10 team. We competed with them despite having tons of players unavailable. It was the first loss. Real rational stuff.

Wake Forest triggered a macro-frustration for me (and I think many fans) that goes beyond the single game, and is more about the state of the program 5 years in.....We're still a very mediocre program with huge talent deficits.

Will and Chris seem to have accepted this new normal, and perhaps they're right. For a few like me, however, I dont accept this. I never will. I watched this program LEAVE this place almost 30 years ago. It feels like those years amount to nothing and are being squandered. I dont want to be back here. It feels like 1991 again. Irrelevant. Treading water. On the way to no place.

Im looking for progress back...just progress. I understand these things take time, but 5 years in, not being able to throw the football and losing to Wake is feedback on how this is going. Its not the first data point either.

I was a big Fuente supporter. I gave him a recruiting mulligan in 2020. Not another, and thats the true barometer. We're losing to the Dukes and Wakes these days because thats the sandbox Fuente had us playing in now. Things got sideways Beamers last 4 years, but he was still bringing in decent talent. Not anymore. If Fuente is going to recruit like his Memphis team, they better play like it, and Im not seeing it.

If I see the athletic department demanding more...I can continue to wait. But if this is "good enough" and they've thrown in the towel on returning to a powerhouse program, dont expect me to pick it up and wave it.
