We were that physical. We used to wrap up on tackles.

A lot of the players we had then were ones the bigger programs didn't recruit. Kam Chancellor was not highly recruited. John Engleberger was a walk on. These guys came in with a chip on their shoulder. There were some diamonds in the rough. Now those kids go to Liberty, ODU, and JMU but they still have the chip on their shoulder.

The Liberty kid who killed us was told he would not play QB at VT.

Even CJF's best season at VT came with some very close wins. We don't seem to pull those out as much anymore. Even the 2018 win over UVA was gift wrapped.
