If I'm Whit, I'm putting about 75% of my criteria for the next coach on recruiting ability. The days of grooming guys, redshirting them, getting them into your S/C program are over. You need to land players who are talented and can contribute right away. Otherwise, with today's free agency - I mean transfer - rules, you're just prepping them to play somewhere else. Freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors don't exist anymore. You can either play or you can't. Fuente's football knowledge is probably much greater than Dabo's. But one can recruit and one can't.

That said, which G5 coaches have the best recruiting reputations? Just browsing 24/7 I had two stick out to me:

1. Jason Candle, Toledo - Young guy who recruits as well at Toledo as JF does at Tech. Roster full of 3-stars.
2. Willie Taggert, FAU - Don't laugh. FSU was a dumpster before he got there and they gave him about 10 seconds to fix it. He's been great everywhere else he's been.
