Something I wouldve posted a long while ago...

Sean Pedulla is a great get for VT. Ive said many times VT doesnt need a PG in the traditional sense, but if youre going to get one, make sure he has the skill offensively to fit. Sean Pedulla definitely has that. I think if you asked MY he wouldnt trade Bede for any other PG, but I also think if you asked MY if he wouldve recruited Bede out of HS Im not sure the answer would be yes. Not a knock on Bede, hes an important part of this team.

I rate Pedulla as a much better fit for MY than Carter Whitt. Defensively he is miles better both on the ball and away from the ball than Whitt despite being smaller. I think he has a frame to put on weight to look a lot like Colin Gillespie.

For comparison, I would compare Pedulla to Storm Murphy from Wofford. Hes a very good shooter, but also doesnt need to shoot a ton of shots. He has a keen understanding of where the ball needs to go in a given action which is super important to fitting in as a guard or wing in MYs offense. He's not as athletic as Pettiford, but also not unathletic either. He will be able to guard other PGs, and switch off to 2s and some 3s without much issue.

If Im Mike Young and I have the green light from the Athletic Department, I would be looking for projects only with any remaining scholarships. If everyone returns next season (the only question would be if Diarra wants to play overseas or if Pemsl wants to continue) their rotations are set. They need players with high upside who can sit and watch. In a year where you can go above the 13 scholarship limit, it would be an absolute boon to add those type of players and use them together as a third unit in practice.

I have zero knowledge of what VT will be looking to do scholarship-wise with the new rule, or if any players actually want to come back, but if they do...will be a great time to be a fan
