I feel the portal and COVID were something Fuente wasn't prepared to deal with. Sadly, this was to be "his year." However, when those two things hit, his ability to coach and recruit got hampered. Not having Spring and most of Sumer practices; then all the COVID testing,; really through him off. Should he have been better prepared, yes, but some people can't handle distractions as well as others. I feel give him a pass this season and see how he does with, hopefully, a full deck next season. Then, if we are still struggling, get a new coach. I just don't think we'll get a good coach this year should we fire him now. Go Hokies.
