A moderate improvement by Justin Hamilton might account for 2-3 wins

I'm almost optimistic that being a DC is like any other job - you aren't really productive in your first year. The offense was inconsistent but still in the top 30. The defense, when not facing a lefty ginger QB, was just terrible.

We need to win that bowl, win at least 7 with a UVa win in 2021, and see an improvement in recruiting, or Fuente is gone in 2021. If we win 8 with a top 30 offense but the defense is still terrible, then Hamilton and Co. might be the only casualty.

After the bowl we will hopefully know whether Coach Ham is finally comfortable as a DC and coming in to his own. The DC job has to be more difficult than most civilian jobs, and I expect the normal second year bump.
