When players feel like a tradition, streak, or representation isn't as important as something else (eg: going home for the holidays), it potentially makes fans less invested as well. I gotta say, as big of a fan of VT football I am... I just checked out a tiny bit more knowing player interests aren't aligned with my fan interest.
