Gather 'round everyone...

Here is your weekly therapy session for all things VT basketball.

Lets dispel the common myths flying around after that abysmal disgusting win over a well-coached ACC team that beat VT twice last season. Bleh

Myth #1: VT is hurting at the guard spot/They need Diarra to come back.

Fact#1: VT is 4-0 since Diarra opted out with a top 25 win, 2 ACC wins and 2 blowouts.

Myth #2: VT is turning the ball over too much.

Fact #2: VT turned the ball over 13.25 times per game in games where Diarra played. They have averaged 13.0 turnovers in games where Diarra hasn't played. 13.0 turnovers per game puts VT in the top 100 in the country in turnover rate.

Myth #3: Free throws almost cost VT this game

Fact #3: VT made more FTs than Miami attempted. Getting to the line and making as many FTs as they did actually won them this game.

VT isnt going to play a perfect game in an ACC schedule. The teams will get tougher and the adjustments will be made to take away what VT does well. VTs youth will keep them from countering in many games and itll look ugly. Diarra isnt going to fix that. He is just as new as anyone else. Diarra was averaging 2.3 assists and 2.3 turnovers per game and was shooting a blistering 12% from 3.

If he comes back, then fine, he can fit into a role and provide some depth. But Cartier Diarra isnt going to be the difference between wins and losses, and for sure isn't going to be the difference between wins and blowouts.

Lets step back from the ledge yet again after a good win. Your very young team is 7-1, undefeated in the ACC and 24th in the nation. Life is much better than youre giving it credit for. VT is way ahead of schedule, even if they had lost tonight
