Troy Manns & Curtis Staples were HS soph when I was a Sr. (All at PH-Roanoke)

And for you local to Roanoke one of my biggest “friendly rivals” I battled 1 on 1 quite a bit was Travis Wells (yes the WDBJ sports guy) at Mville

Really good teams around back then and we did manage to win the old Roanoke Valley District in 89-90

One other football giant I played in basketball was Keith Hamilton of Heritage in Lynchburg who went on to star at DT for Pitt and Giants. He was a 6’6” 270 lb brick wall in the paint
