Skeeter Heath was the main guy. When I came in it was Allen Strange,
a one time Hokie and twin brother of Curtis.
Little known fact that Allen's roommate for 2 yrs, would become the most successful golfer in ETSU history, Mike Hulbert from upstate NY. Hubby won 3 times on the PGA tour, with a lot of really good yrs. Then lost it, as golfers do, and never got it back.
Since you mentioned CS, my roommate for 3yrs in JC was Frank Moore from Northside. A really good player in his own right, a former Va. Mid Am Championship.
And full disclosure, I was a walk-on, and never cracked the travel team, but made many life long friends.
